Museum steam-hauled railway Hoorn-Medemblik
The locomotive whistles and the engine driver heats up the fire. Get on board quickly because the steam train is leaving! The museum steam train Hoorn-Medemblik tells you the story of the railways in Holland between 1879 and 1966. It is possible to combine a visit to the tulip excursion with a trip on the steam train. The train rides from Hoorn to Medemblik and back, through the beautiful countryside, along typical Dutch villages like Opperdoes, Twisk and Wognum.

The Tulip excursion and Museum steam-hauled railway made the following package for you on Saturdays from end of March until beginning of May 2011:
10.30 h        welcome at Tulip excursion with 2 cups of coffee/tea with fresh pie, followed by the PowerPoint presentation and guided tour through the green houses, cold stores and bunching room and, as soon as the tulips are in bloom in open air, also in the fields.
12.00 h        farmers lunch buffet
13.00 h        departure to Medemblik
13.30 h        tour with the steam-hauled railway to Hoorn (through the bulb fields that, depending on the weather, show you the most beautiful colors)
14.45 h        arrival in Hoorn, visit to the museum property
15.30 h        end of the program

This package costs  € 28,50 per person, including VAT. The package can be booked by groups of 20 to 50 persons, as of mid April the arrangement is possible from Tuesday to Saturday. This price excludes transport to and from the different attractions.
The train operates according to the time table from mid March until mid November, but for groups it is possible to ask for a date as of mid February, and also in December. Groups can also reserve a romantic dinner in the Candle light express.
