Tulips, cheese and windmills
If you think of Holland, you think of tulips, cheese and windmills. Therefore we offer you a typical Dutch package, in which we combine the Tulip excursion with a visit to the flour mill ‘de Herder’ in Medemblik and to the cheese farm of Sjaak and Lia Koopman in de Weere. You will enjoy the beauty of the Tulip flowers in the green houses or in the fields from nursery Siem Munster. Here we will tell you all about the production process of the Tulip and you will be guided around the company. After a short ride you will be welcomed at cheese farm Koopman where you will ge tan introduction about their certified farmers cheese. You will have the opportunity to taste the cheeses and of course you can buy the cheeses to take as a souvenir. Then you will go to Medemblik, where you will have a beautiful view over the polder Wieringermeer, standing on top of the Westfrisian dike. Here you will find the flour mill ‘de Herder’ where you will be guided by the miller. He will tell you all about the technique of the windmill and you have the opportunity to bake waffles from house milled flour, to go with the coffee.

Program:
10.30 h        welcome at the Tulip excursion with two cups of coffee/tea with Petit four, followed by a PowerPoint presentation and guided tour through the greenhouses, cold stores and bunching room and, as soon as the tulips are in bloom, also in the fields.
12.00 h        farmers lunch buffet
13.00 h        departure to cheese farm Koopman in de Weere
13.30 h        presentation and guided tour at cheese farm Koopman, possibility to buy farmers cheese
15.00 h        departure to flour mill ‘de Herder’ in Medemblik
15.30 h        coffee with self made waffles in flour mill ‘de Herder’, guided tour through the wind mill
16.30 h        end of the program

This package costs € 25 per person, including VAT. The package can be booked by groups of 20 to 40 persons, from end of December until beginning of May. This price excludes transport to and from the different attractions.

This package is not possible with wheelchairs.
